PYP Exhibition 2012 Days 7-9 21st - 23rd February 2012

Aryaman Sinha and Rishit Jain

This week for the PYP exhibition we finished reading the Students’ Exhibition Guidelines and were divided into groups based on our choice of the strands of the transdisciplinary theme- Where we are in place and time, and related aspects & issues listed by us.
We got the timeline of the process of the exhibition. We discussed and decided on the dates to finish the first two stages.
We also made Essential Agreements to follow during the PYP Exhibition. First, we individually listed down three essential agreements which we thought we would need throughout the process of the Exhibition. Then we discussed as a group what the two most important essential agreements should be, to be shared with the other groups.

PYP Exhibition 2012 Days 4-6 14th - 17th February 2012

We were divided into groups and given the task of completing a 5W and 1 H chart about the PYP Exhibition. We were quite curious and in fact a little nervous about the process of the Exhibition. We were then showed some videos of the process of the Exhibition in a school in Thailand. We also viewed a power point presentation showing glimpses of the last year’s Exhibition in our school. This was followed by individual reflection of ‘What I used to think’ and ‘What I now know’. We were now beginning to get a rough idea about the journey called the PYP Exhibition. A student guideline book for the Exhibition was given by our teachers and we started reading it in our groups.

PYP Exhibition 2012 Day 2- 9th February 2012

Students shared their reflections with others and discussed the provocations that they had selected and how were they connected to their lives and why. They then unanimously agreed that the transdisciplinary theme for the PYP Exhibition 2012 is 'Where we are in place and time'.

PYP Exhibition 2012 Day 1- 7th February 2012

Students started their fundamental work for the PYP Exhibition 2012 by watching some videos, a power point presentation, some news articles and listening to some songs and a story called 'My Grandfather's journey' which helped them understand the transdisciplinary theme 'Where we are in place and time'. They reflected on two of the provocations.
